Getting Started

Before You Begin

The Jamaica C5 Form is completed entirely online at enterjamaica.gov.jm (operated by PICA - the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency - and the Jamaica Customs Agency). It is free to submit and takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. You can submit your form up to 30 days before your arrival date.

This form is not a visa. It is a separate, mandatory declaration required for entry - even if your nationality does not require a Jamaican visa.

3

Enter your personal details

Full name (exactly as on your passport), date of birth, nationality, and passport number and expiry date. Character-by-character accuracy is essential.

4

Enter your travel details

Flight number, airline name, and arrival date in Jamaica. Only enter these details after your flight is confirmed to avoid submitting incorrect travel information.

5

Enter your accommodation details

Provide the full hotel name and address, or your host's full name and address if staying privately.

6

Complete the customs declaration section

Declare any goods exceeding the duty-free allowance, cash or monetary instruments over USD $10,000, and any agricultural or restricted items. When in doubt - always declare.

7

Review your entire form carefully

Your name must match your passport exactly, character by character. Double-check your passport number and dates before submitting. Errors can slow down your entry.

8

A QR code will be sent to your email address immediately after submission. No waiting period is required - there is no approval process.

9

Save or print your QR code

You must present it to the immigration officer on arrival in Jamaica. Save it to your phone and consider printing a backup copy. Do not delete the confirmation email.

How to Complete the Customs Declaration Section

The customs declaration is an important part of your Jamaica C5 Form. You must declare goods that exceed the duty-free allowance, even if you do not expect to pay duty.

Duty-Free Limits Per Traveler (Age 18 and Older)

ItemAllowance
AlcoholUp to 2 liters
Tobacco200 cigarettes, OR 50 cigars, OR 230g of tobacco
Perfume170ml of perfume + 340ml of eau de toilette
Personal effects and giftsUp to USD $500 in total value
CashMust declare amounts over USD $10,000 (not prohibited - must be reported)

Prohibited Items - Do Not Bring

  • Illegal drugs or narcotics
  • Firearms or weapons without a valid permit
  • Honey (strictly banned)
  • Raw meat, fresh produce, or dairy without agricultural inspection clearance
  • Counterfeit goods of any kind
When in doubt - always declare. Failing to declare dutiable goods can result in fines, confiscation of items, and criminal prosecution under Jamaican law.

What Happens After Submitting?

Once you submit your Jamaica C5 Form, a QR code is sent to your email address immediately. No waiting period is required - there is no approval process. Present your QR code (digital on your phone or printed) along with your valid passport to the immigration officer on arrival.

Free Wi-Fi and self-service kiosks are available at Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay if you have not completed your form before arriving. However, completing the form before your departure is mandatory - do not rely on airport kiosks as a first option.

How Long Does It Take?

Completing the Jamaica entry form online takes approximately 5-10 minutes for most travelers. Your QR code is issued immediately after submission - there is no approval wait time. You may submit your form at any point within the 30-day window before your arrival date.

We recommend submitting 24-48 hours before your departure, once your flight details are confirmed. Submitting too early (with an unconfirmed flight number) risks entering incorrect travel details.
